Join acclaimed photographer at Neighborhood Studio for an one-day photography intensive, hosted with Hetty and Jodi!
Betty will share her perspective on photography and touch on the important tools that you can utilize to continue your creative journey moving forward. She’ll talk through her workflow, from considering a story to the execution, to the delivery. She’ll focus on how to see natural light and then how to manipulate it. She’ll talk about the theories in composition and how to apply it to your own work. She’ll talk about finding your voice and how to nurture that voice as it evolves through time, even across different scenes such as travel, lifestyle, food. She’ll round the day off with a primer on Lightroom and how to create presets. Together, we’ll dine on seasonal lunch cooked by Hetty and Jodi, and have chats about social media and how to utilize it to your best advantage. In this workshop you’ll find yourself challenged and pushed outside your comfort zone, so that we can progress together.
Betty will also demonstrate how to make stop-motion videos for Instagram, or GIFs for the web (she was nominated for a Saveur Blog Award for Best Food Video!) She’ll share her set-up, the tools she uses to get stable frames, and the process of putting it all together. See her video work here:
Before the workshop you’ll be sent optional materials to familiarize yourself with the basic camera settings, and Betty will be available to answer any questions you have both before, during, and after the workshop.
